School Proms
The Hop Farm has two function suites that are ideal for a School Ball / End of Year Prom.
Our largest function room, The Dray, has standing capacity for up to 400+ guests, can seat 200+ for a dinner with enough room for a disco and dance floor area and has a 40' bar plus toilet facilities for ladies / gents / disabled guests. It has an area of hard standing outside, ideal for garden furniture, and also overlooks our 500 acres of fields.
The Dray also has an attached permanent marquee, which is fitted out to look like a function room. This area can be used to seat up to 275 diners for a seated meal. The Dray room itself would then be used as the bar and dance floor area.
We generally, if we have availability, allow full daytime access for set up for School Proms.
However for lower numbers, our other function suite, Whites Banqueting Suite, would be more appropriate. This has a maximum capacity of 150 for a dinner dance or more (200+) for a buffet style event.
The Hop Farm bar runs through to 11.20pm, with a room close time of midnight, however we can offer an extension of bar through to 12.20am and room close of 01.00am for a small fee. The Hop Farm bar prices are normal pub prices, not over inflated hotel prices!
Thamesview School held their Prom in Whites Banqueting Suite, and commented "Thank you for all your help, support and patience in the build up to our event. All of the students and staff had a fantastic evening - staff have even told me it was the best prom they have ever attended due to the venue. Being as the bar and dance floor were so close it meant the atmosphere was fantastic and much more enjoyable than at other venues. I would definitely recommend your venue to others and it was so well organised and met all of our needs."
Historically, The Hop Farm have held proms for Chislehurst & Sidcup Grammar, Invicta Grammar School, The Weald of Kent Grammar School, Valley Park School, Hillview School, Rochester Grammar School, Aylesford School and The Malling School to name but a few.

Please note that for school prom events security is now compulsory for 6th form students, so we would provide two door security per 100 guests at a cost of £12.00 plus VAT per man per hour, and they check the ID of everyone coming in and give wristbands to all over 18's to allow them to purchase alcohol. They also remain present for the duration of the event to ensure the safety and security of all guests. If it is a Year 11 Prom, we would only need to provide one member of security to over see the safety and security of guests, as there would be no alcohol served.
